New Grant for Collaborative Project at the Intersection of Visual Analytics and Information Retrieval

A one year grant from the Department of Defense will lead to new ways to contextualize structured data visualizations with relevant text documents.

David Gotz and collaborator Yue Wang have been awarded a new grant from the United States Department of Defense to work on a project at the intersection of visual analytics and information retrieval. The project, awarded over $200,000 via the Laboratory for Analytical Sciences (LAS) at North Carolina State University, will support one year of research examining ways to integrate unstructured search into the exploratory visual analytic process of structured data.
