VACLab at IEEE VIS 2022: Three Papers, a Poster, and a Panel

VACLab researchers are sharing their research throughout the week at IEEE VIS 2022, the premier international conference for visualization research.

The 2022 IEEE VIS conference, the premier international conference for visualization-related research, will take place in Oklahoma City, OK, USA from October 16-21. Research from VACLab teammates will be presented throughout the week.

On Monday October 17, David Gotz will take part in the Visualization in Biomedical AI Workshop as a panelist. He will provide a brief overview of VACLab work on this area and engage in an open discussion with the other panelists in response to audience questions. The full workshop schedule is available here.

On Wednesday October 19, two VACLab papers will be presented during the same Visual Analytics and Machine Learning session. First, VACLab-er Zhilan Zhou will present her work on “A Design Space for Surfacing Content Recommendations in Visual Analytic Platforms," a collaboration with other VACLab teammates Wenyuan Wang, Mengtian Guo, Yue Wang, and David Gotz. A presentation in the same session will share work from VACLab-ers Smiti Kaul and David Gotz. This second presentation will share results from a “Survey on Visual Analysis of Event Sequence Data” which was conducted in collaboration with Yi Guo, Shunan Guo, Zhuochen Jin, and Nan Cao.

On Friday October 21, a third VACLab paper will appear in the Comparisons session. Shunan Guo will present “Interpretable Anomaly Detection in Event Sequences via Sequence Matching and Visual Comparison," co-authored with Zhuochen Jin, Qing Chen, VACLab-er David Gotz, Hongyuan Zha, and Nan Cao.

Finally, VACLab-ers David Borland and David Gotz are co-authors on a VIS Poster titled “Digestable: Condensed Views of Tabular Data.” You can find the two page poster abstract for this VIS contribution in the publication section of the VACLab website.
